Ministry Connections is a ministry within the church that allows God to work through its committee members to foster and enable communication and individualistic spiritual gifts placement. We encourage enthusiasm towards the church’s missions/visions.
The role of Ministry Connections is to aid members and long-term visitors in discovering spiritual gifts for ministry matching by identifying gifts, hobbies, interests, talents, abilities, and skills of each member, and to suggest service in a ministry that will help utilize these gifts.
We move toward more active volunteer participation; ignite connections made to members, long-term visitors, and to God; and guide members and long-term volunteers to empower themselves and others through their commitments to the church and community.
This ministry guides, educates, brings awareness of ministry involvement, supports volunteer efforts, facilitates training, and manages volunteer data through face-to-face, phone interviewing, email communications, and survey assessments. Communication is the fiber that weaves through each ministry in Worship, Service, and Fellowship.
We also ask members and long-term volunteers to contact us throughout the year to foster engagement, so that we can make ministry service memorable, enhance ministries, help members mitigate volunteer burnout, and track retention.
The committee consists of Carrie Bemis, Toni Davies, Carolyn Harrison, Charlotte Montanus, Candace Sinner, Jane Sparks, and Wanda Jacobs, who reach out to members and long-term visitors to guide and connect those to a ministry and to each other within that ministry, to where they feel God calls them to serve, and to help them discover their place in God’s world at a place where they belong.
We communicate information that can easily be grasped, attend annual Long-Range Planning Retreats, share in Ministry Moments, volunteer at the Welcome Booth, participate in Council Meetings and New Member Orientations, collaborate on ideas at committee meetings, set and accomplish short/long-term goals, and track member involvement for retention benefits.
