Pastor Dale is married to Kimberly (Kimmy) and they have three children: Bethany, Andrew, and Samuel. Dale was born in Philadelphia and raised in Arizona, living in Phoenix, Casa Grande, Kingman, and Yuma over the course of his childhood; he met Kimberly in Kingman in junior high school. Dale served in the Navy for 6 years. While in the Navy, he worked in intelligence, living and traveling in various countries throughout Asia. He and Kimberly were married in 1985 in Phoenix and lived in San Francisco for two years before Dale left the Navy.
Dale’s undergraduate degree is from Trinity Western University in Langley, B.C., Canada, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in World Religions. Upon graduation, Dale began graduate school at Fuller Seminary where he received a Master of Divinity degree in 1996. While in college, he served as the youth director of an interdenominational community church in Bellingham, WA, and during seminary as youth director and associate pastor in a local church. Upon graduation from seminary, Dale was ordained and served for nearly nine years as the senior pastor of a rural community church on the central Pacific coast in Washington State. He was called as the Associate Pastor at The Church at Litchfield Park in May, 2005, and subsequently called as Senior Pastor in March, 2008.
Dale’s late father was Roman Catholic and his mother is Protestant. Dale was christened in the Catholic Church and attended Mass on holidays, but growing up he predominantly attended Sunday school and church in various Protestant churches, including Baptist, interdenominational, Methodist, and Presbyterian. He considers his christening and later believer’s baptism grants him “dual citizenship” in the Kingdom of God.
Dale’s love for people has inspired him to travel extensively throughout the world. The list of countries he has lived in and visited include: Canada, Mexico, Japan, Korea, China, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, India, England, Portugal, Spain, Belgium, Ireland, and South Africa.
His upbringing and life experiences have given him a passion for ecumenical ministry. Theologically he calls himself “Christo-centric,” focusing on the central elements which all Christians hold in common. Since coming to The Church at Litchfield Park, Dale has become active in the International Council of Community Churches, serving on the Endowment Committee and chairing the Minutes Committee for the annual conference. He is a member of Rotary International and is active in various other capacities in the community.
