CLP Kids and Youth Families,

There are many meaningful (and fun!) opportunities ahead for your family to grow in faith, serve together, and stay connected to what God is doing at CLP. Here are a few important updates and invitations.

Midweek@CLP (Wednesdays)
Join us Wednesday evenings for family connection and spiritual growth.

CLP Kids Choir meets 5:45–6:30 PM--Fin out more by emailing Diana Walker here.

Choir is a joyful space where kids learn to worship through music, build friendships, and grow in confidence as they hide God’s Word in their hearts through song. Throughout the year, they will also be invited to help lead worship on Sundays.

Easter@CLP
We are moving toward Easter with anticipation and joy!

On Easter morning, CLP Kids will gather at both 8:30 and 10:00 AM to hear the Easter story, followed by an Easter egg hunt and a fun snack. Invite friends and extended family to join you for this celebration.

Serving Opportunities for Kids and Families

Children are invited to serve as acolytes on Communion Sundays. Contact Molly Alward (Worship Chair), or reach out, and we will help make the connection.
Families can serve together by joining the Welcome Team at the 10:00 AM service or ushering at the 8:30 AM service. Connect with our First Impression Chair, Jenni Goodall.

VBS 2026 — June 8–12 | 6:00–8:00 PM
This year’s theme is Junkyard Redemption—a creative, high-energy week that helps kids see how God restores and gives new purpose to what seems broken or forgotten. Through Bible teaching, music, and hands-on activities, children will discover how every life can be transformed by God’s redeeming love.

Co-Mission Camp — July 13–17 | 8:00 AM–12:00 PM
Open to incoming 5th graders through 12th grade. This week is designed to help students grow in faith, serve in Christ’s love, and engage in God’s mission. Participants will serve at organizations such as Feed My Starving Children and St. Mary’s Food Bank, learning what it means to live out their faith in practical ways.

Looking Ahead: Youth Mission Trip & Confirmation (2027)
Families of youth should begin looking ahead to next year’s mission trip to San Diego (Summer 2027).
To prepare, we will host 2–3 local serve opportunities this summer in the Phoenix area, including:

André House — serving individuals experiencing homelessness through meals and hospitality
Agua Fria outreach opportunities

These experiences help students step into real spaces of service as they prepare for the larger mission trip.

We will also begin our next Confirmation class in January 2027. Confirmation is a 10-week foundational study designed to help students build a firm understanding of the doctrine of our faith. Together, we walk through core Christian beliefs, the meaning of the gospel, the sacraments, Scripture, and what it means to live as a committed follower of Christ. It is a significant step in helping students move from inherited faith to owned faith—grounded, thoughtful, and rooted in truth.
